This first edition and limited edition leather booklet bound with a gold cord is part of the McCormick Spice Company family and corporate history. Written in 1941 by Charles P. McCormick (1886-1970) and dedicated to his son, it contains a compilation of inspirational quotes and wisdom from other McCormick family members and business men of the time. A true treasure trove of words to live by!
This copy also contains a gift inscription written and SIGNED by Charles P. McCormick to "the Rabbi" on the inside front cover. The inside front and back cover pages contain a bicolor depiction of the McCormick corporate campus "Friendship Court", including the "Spice Office", "Extract Office", "Insecticide Office", "Tea Office", "Tea House", "Tea Museum", and "Purchasing Office".
The book measures 7 1/4" x 5 1/4", and is in near fine condition, with only a little wear of the edges of the leather cover.
Charles P. McCormick came to work at his Uncles' Spice firm as a shipping clerk in 1912. After his uncle passed in 1932, Charles served as president of the McCormick Spice Company for 23 years, building it into an international spices and flavorings company. He became well known for his progressive Multiple Management system and his civic involvement in the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland at large.
