This hand crafted Navajo wedding vase is signed by Judy J. from Cedar Mesa pottery, and features hand painted figures of a native on horseback on one side, boats at sea on the other, and mountains in between.
It measures 5 1/2" tall, 5" wide, 4" deep, and is in pristine vintage condition.
In traditional Pueblo and Navajo ceremonies, the vase is filled with a sacred liquid, such as water blessed by a shaman, herbal tea, or a special nectar prepared by a medicine man. The two spouts represent the bride and groom, while the handle symbolizes their union and shared life. The space within the loop represents the circle of life.
In modern use, you can use it to serve beverages, hold flowers, or just as a beautiful decorative piece.
