This striking stained glass panel depicts a sunrise over the mountains, with a river and grassy field in the foreground and three birds hovering above. It measures 11 1/2" x 17", and is framed in sturdy zinc channel framing. Permanent hangers are installed into the frame from which you can attach S hooks and chains to hang it (S hooks and chains not included).
This piece incorporates several different art glasses, including Kokomo opalescent glass for the sky and mountains, English muffle cathedral glass for the river, and Youghiogheny opalescent glass for the grassy field. Black opalescent glass is used for the birds which are overlaid on top for a 3-D effect. Please note that these glasses all have different textures and striations, which are characteristic of this type of glass and give them their unique appearance. They also will look very different with and without light behind them, so be sure to view all photos.
Each piece of glass is carefully selected, cut and shaped by hand, and assembled using the copper foil method (also known as the Tiffany method.)
